The workspace switches when you click Switch now and add credits. ## Monthly billing switches to credits on 09/30/2026 On **September 30, 2026**, workspaces still on monthly billing move to [credit-based billing](/accounts/billing). Click **Switch now** on the Billing page and add credits to switch yourself. If you don't, Retell moves the workspace that day and the credit balance starts at **\$0**. Calls, chat, and other usage then come out of those credits instead of a bill at the end of the month. You can't switch back. If you already see **Credits Balance**, you're already on the new billing. Enterprise workspaces stay on monthly invoicing. You won't see **Switch now**. ## What changes * Calls, chat, and other usage come out of your credits as you use them. If the balance hits zero, that usage stops until you [buy more credits](/accounts/billing) or turn on auto recharge. * You get one last bill for what you've used so far. It's charged to your card. * Any credit already on your workspace is added to the new balance, after that last bill. * You need a card saved. The credits you add, and that last bill, are both charged to it. Add a card under [payment methods](/accounts/add-payment) before you switch. ## What still bills monthly These stay on your card. They are not paid with credits: * Phone numbers [purchased through Retell](/deploy/purchase-number) * [Concurrency](/deploy/concurrency) * Knowledge base hosting beyond the free tier * Calls per second (CPS) * SMS subscriptions A percent-off discount on your current subscription carries over. You don't need to change your agents or phone setup. ## Switch to credit-based billing Do this on each [workspace](/accounts/workspace) that is still on monthly billing. Go to **Billing**. If you're on monthly billing, you won't see **Credits Balance**. You'll see a notice to switch. Billing notice saying you'll switch to credit-based billing on September 30, 2026, with Switch now and Learn what changes If **Switch now** is grayed out, ask an admin on your team. See [Access control](/accounts/access-control). **Switch now** asks you to add a card first. See [Add payment methods](/accounts/add-payment). Pick **\$10**, **\$50**, or **\$100**, or type your own amount from **\$10** to **\$10,000**. You see **Credits Balance**, with **Buy credits** and **Auto recharge**. Set **When credits drop below** and **Bring credits back to**, then click **Save**. You can't switch back. Credits don't expire, and they can't be refunded. Add a card before September 30 so the last bill can be charged. If the Billing page says something on your workspace can't be moved yet, email [support@retellai.com](mailto:support@retellai.com) before September 30. ## FAQ Monthly billing ends on September 30, 2026. After that, calls, chat, and other usage come out of credits instead of a bill at the end of the month. If you don't click **Switch now**, Retell moves the workspace that day and the credit balance starts at **\$0**. [Auto recharge](/accounts/billing#set-up-auto-recharge) can refill the balance so usage doesn't stop. Enterprise workspaces stay on monthly invoicing. No. September 30, 2026 stays the date so billing lines up with the 1st of the month. The workspace switches when you click **Switch now** and add credits. If you don't click **Switch now**, it switches on September 30, 2026, and the credit balance starts at **\$0**. Calls, chat, and other usage stop until you add credits or turn on [auto recharge](/accounts/billing#set-up-auto-recharge). No. After you click **Switch now** and add credits, you stay on credit-based billing. You get one last bill for what you've used up to the switch, charged to your card. After that, calls, chat, and other usage come out of your credits. Yes. Phone numbers and your other monthly fees stay on your card. A percent discount stays too. Calls, chat, and other usage move to credits. No. Your agents and phone numbers keep working. You only change how you pay, on the Billing page.
